Our Dental Implant Process

Preliminary Care and Planning

The first step towards replacing teeth with implants involves a consultation and examination by our doctors. We will evaluate your mouth to ensure you have proper bone volume, are free of oral disease, and discover if you need to have any other teeth removed prior to surgery. Cone beam CT scans are performed to capture highly detailed images of your mouth and jaw, showing us how much bone volume you have, the position of tooth roots and jaw nerves. We use this information to pre-plan your implant case so the surgery step is as simple as possible. Any tooth extractions or bone grafting treatments are performed after your examination and once your mouth has healed, we will advance to the surgical step.

Placing and Restoring Implants

Once you are ready to have your implants placed, our doctors will create an implant guide utilizing the images we captured before. This guide will show our doctors exactly where to place the implants, including the angle, position and depth to drill. This implant guide makes the surgery more accurate and safe—virtually having around 90 percent of the treatment already completed aside from the surgery itself. To prevent feelings of anxiety or discomfort during implant surgery, we offer effective sedation options, including IV sedation. In many cases, we can restore your implants the same day as surgery with a lifelike and durable crown. Our office features its own in-house lab, making the finalization of your new smile easier than ever. Most people will never know you were ever missing a tooth!
